Psalm 51
A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba

Surely, a king, man after God's heart should know about the sin that he had committed, not after but also during the sinning process, even before Nathan pointed out to David.

What then made David to sin? Without a conscience and without fear and regard for God. God was surely not in David's heart and David had surely no fear for Him and that resulted in David performing sin and planning to do more.

But when Nathan pointed out to David, suddenly he realised that where was God in him, v4 Against you, you only, have I sinnedand done what is evil in your sight.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,and renew a right [2] spirit within me.11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

David need to restore that spirit that fear God. For without that fear of God, he would surely go on sinning without consideration for God. He needed restoration, a new heart, a new spirit.

What was done became past. 14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God,O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.

Yes, david has sinned, but he too wanted God back. What then make David desire to turn back to God? David had seen God, he knew God. What cause him to lose that fear was probably he has idle too long and let that carnal nature of man took over.

Remain in God. v17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Keep doing so by keeping close to God. Keep close by reading (because the words are given by God), prayers (keeping close to His heartbeat) and by worship (remembering the due back to God and know that He is still my God for His providence, grace and mercy).

Lord, how long should I continue without you, that I should remain in closeness with you. I pray and ask that I may fear you that I may know what not to sin against you. Forgive me, give me a renew heart, a new spirit and restore my salvation. For you alone I will fear and to you alone I want to keep close. Amen.

John 2
John baptized Jesus, the next day Jesus took in 2 disciples and the next day another 2.
Chapter 2:1 on the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee.

Imagine following your mentor on a mission. It was all about daily lives among the people. It was about interacting with people. They need to see and v11 Jesus thus revealed his glory and his disciples put their faith in him.

In the same way, discipleship is about walking and doing at the same time, so that your life is made known and shown.

The second part of John 2 (v12-25), Jesus revealed his purposes and the intent of his coming.

The glory and the miracles that was made known was for a purpose. It was about rebuilding the temple and attain back the glory for God.

Reclaim the lost land and establish your purpose in God.

Leadership is not about charging, but a charging towards a intend. You have to lead your disciples for a purpose.

The immediate leadership role I have is for my family. Lord help me to lead them and disciple them that they may know their purposes in God and that they may see the glory of God and walk and grow in faith each day.

I am not perfect, full of sin, yet if I stop walking with you, nobody will follow, all will stop. Move me on and regain the heartbeat of yours in my life. Ministry is about people, is about interaction. Lead me back in this area.

John 1
On Thursday, I accompanied my father to cancer center for chemothraphy. I asked him to read John 1, and he did. Amen.

Not a easy chapter 1 to read. The word is God and God is light and of course they all refer to Jesus. This is a lot of stuff in theology.

To sum up in 2 points:
Open my eyes that I see Jesus (John 1:32)
Open my heart that I may know God (1:45)

John was the one to come before Christ, and witness about Christ. In Isaiah, it was mentioned that before the coming of the Messiah, Elijah or at least one of the prophet was to come first. That was why the priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask John. But when he asnswered that he was not Elijah, then of course the one whom he witness should not be Christ. Again a lot of stuff in theology.

In contrast, the simple fisherman like Peter, Andrew, Philip and Nathanael knew that Jesus was the Messiah. So is it a matter of too much head knowledge and too little of the heart?

I used to be one that need to know all about God before I can accept Him. My father however, need not to know about God, but that was because he has not desire to know such God.

At least, I seek to know God, I found Christ. First is about knowing that there is a God, about Jesus. My father may know that there is a God, but refuse to know that He is almighty. He believe in himself. So sad, but I will refuse to bear the responsible on the day of his death and he has not accept Christ.

John came. He bore witness to Christ. Some believe while other not.

Jesus came and John saw the spirit of god on Jesus and knew that that must be Christ. The disciples were told of Jesus by John and they followed Jesus.

Open my spiritual eyes that I may see things beyond my understanding. Open my father eyes that he may see the realness of God. Open my heart to see these dying people that do not know you.

It is not about theology, it is about the love of God that sent christ for us. OPen my heart to incline to your heartbeat. Amen.

Joshua 9
The Gibeonite Deception

Like Rahab, the Gibeonite heard about God and all His works. In contrast to the kings who ganged up against Israel, they went to seek alliance.

9:1 As soon as all the kings who were beyond the Jordan in the hill country and in the lowland all along the coast of the Great Sea toward Lebanon, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, heard of this, 2 they gathered together as one to fight against Joshua and Israel.

Like Rahab, they have not seen God, but have heard. They fear and knew that destruction is near. They rather be servants. What is then my heart?

Have you not heard? Have you not seen? the Lord is the everlasting God!
What do I fear? Or is it that I do need God anymore?

The Israelites did not inquired about the alliance. 14 So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the Lord.

I pray that my mind be focus on knowing God and in whatever I do I seek Him.

I present The Isaiah Initiative to you. In all the trade and transactions, le me seek your counsel, not my wisdom, so that sucess is due to you.

I present my family to you. As a father, the leader, I pray that I will guide and direct my children know God and to see the love between Rachael and myself. Lord help me.

OPen my ears that I may hear from you and my eyes that I may see. Let me seek you and know the path you have showed me.

Joshua 5

1) God is in control, He is the Lord
2) God is giving you a new blessings

In front of the enemies, God asked the Israelites to circumcised. Irrational in the eyes of man, but consecration in the eyes of God. Man looked at the readiness for battle, but God look at the readiness of the heart.

It does not matter whether their are enemies ahead of you, or there are difficult situation ahead of you. Is my heart ready for God, to obey and hear Him and act out what His will that may seem irrational to men? v8 When the circumcising of the whole nation was finished, they remained in their places in the camp until they were healed. 9 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.”

Lord I pray and ask that you that away any reproach that is in me. I want to live in your will and allow you to do your mighty works in me. I am empty, and you have done so, so that I from now, I act in accordance to your will. If I might prosper, it is you. For I will rememeber this start of 1st June that I leave Egypt. I still have provisions, but I know that you will sustain me and will see me through. I wait for the manna to stop.

12 And the manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the land. And there was no longer manna for the people of Israel, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
