2 King 4
Elisha and the Widow's Oil
v2 “What shall I do for you? Tell me.."

As for me, you know my heart. Give me one that will trust and fear you, so that I can live in full obedience in you. Even if you bless me with wealth know, I may fail you because my heart may not act and fulfil the plan you have for me. I ask for the heart, so that I can act in full obedience and execute the plan you have for me.

Elisha asked the woman for jars, not just a few. If she had just brought a few, she would have missed out a lot more. I asked therefore for a heart and wisdom that can minister the extra ordinary amount of wealth, through II, for a purpose you have through me for your kingdom.

I have not tasted the creation of wealth through II, but I know that it will come to pass. Even as I pray, I ask that you show me how to bless and how the network of bless can be setup.

The Shunammite Woman prepared a room in order that Elisha, the man of God could be blessed. Again Elisha asked her what she want. She did not answer directly, but Elisha asked his servant,v14 “What then is to be done for her?”.

Imagine the answer if the servant Gehazi had not asked for a son. Be bold. God has the power to give life.

God has too the power to overcome death. v26 And she answered, “All is well.” No, her son had died. ELisha later raised him from death. Therefore be bold.

I have presented my heart to God, I have asked that your plan will be the best will for me. Amen.

2 Kings Chapter 3

Obedience and full obedience
Choosing God and choosing the world

The chapter began with a description of King Jehoram of Israel. He was v2 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, though not like his father and mother, for he put away the pillar of Baal that his father had made. 3 Nevertheless, he clung to the sin of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin; he did not depart from it.

Basically, not a fully obedience king to God, despite what he had done, he was still considered evil in the sight of the Lord.

When he went out to war, his army ran out of water. What would you expect the outcome? Unlike his father Ahaziah, who seek not the God of Israel but foreign god, King Jehoram did not seek foreign god. BUT neither did he seek the God of Israel. This reflect his obedience and his trust in the Lord. v10 Then the king of Israel said, “Alas! The Lord has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”

Fortunately for him, someone in his company knew how to seek the Lord, the King of Judah, v11 And Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?”

Choose the right company - worldly versus godly. Choose the right standard and value, the world versus God.

I remembered as I started off II, I asked the Lord for priestly counsel. Least of all I have these men whom can ask God for His direction and plan of action, that I may not be able to hear.

Our state of obedience reflect our reactions to situation, but our full obedience showed our actions toward God plan. When we are fully obedience to God, when He give the words, the plan that even it sound impossible, we act. But when our obedience is not "full", we only react. God cannot called us for any action. When face with a situation, we then remembered God and seek Him. As a result, we are reactive.

Lord I pray, as you continue to speak to me about full obedience, that I may be one to fully obey you and trust and fear you.

2 King 2
From Gilgal to Bethel to Jericho to Jordan, Elisha followed Elijah.

It is at Gilgal that Joshua 4:19 The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they encamped at Gilgal on the east border of Jericho. 20 And those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal.

Gen35:15 So Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.

Of course Jerico is the first stronghold that the people of Israel took after crossing the Jordan.

These were significant places, a place of remembrance for the greatness and the promise of God.

As I retraced these few years, I recalled meeting two people that has helped shaped my life - one is Paul and the other is Steven. In a surprise way, these are people that I always and labelled them belonging to the "priestly class". I am introduce to the work of church, and a pursuit of God in a different dimension. I now know more pastor and church worker, para church worker more than I have two or three years ago.

I still hold on to the calling, the vision God has showed me. God blessed me with a wonderful family, also for the pursuit of that vision. But over the years I have became distracted and try to achieve the vision by my own human capability and planning. But now, after knowing these two man, I have been shaped and pursuit the vision with God planning and in His agenda.

The forming of The Isaiah Initiative was another milestone. It set the propose of giving to God's kingdom.

The get away with Rachael was also good. The focus on the family is how to bring up Josef, Deborah and Matthias not in the pursuit of worldly standard, but in Godly values. It is how to engage their spirit with God in their everyday lives.

When I met Pastor Mehan two Sunday, I asked how to get God's anointing. His answer was it cannot be taught but caught.

Like wise, when Elijah parted the Jordan, Elisha did so.

I pray and ask for this anointing and God open my eyes and my involvement that I may catch these anointing and I can also allow my family to catch this anointing.

2 King 1
From today I will began my reading for my time alone with God from the OT 2Kings.

Chapter 1
Who do you believe?
Who do you trust?
Who do you fear?

The world tends to distract us with material wealth, power and status. But sickness come to all. So what is that to you to gain the whole world but to lose your soul.

King Ahaziah was the king of Israel, but God was not in his dictionary. When he fell sick, he sent messengers, telling them, “Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this sickness.” Do you know your God? Who do you believe?

Probably you do, but when it come to death and life situation, is God still the one you seek? Or do you trust in the things around you, your own strength, your status, your relationship, your wealth ... to solve the problem. It began with the little trust in God to know that He controls the big and small situation.

When Elijah confronted King Ahaziah, the king sent 3 batches of 50 men to confront Elijah back. Yes Elijah was only a man and the king has an army. Who do you trust?

100 men went before God and was slain. The last batch of 50 men, the commander realise that he was not confronting man but God. So do you fear your king or your God? If he has chosen to fear man, he and his 50 men would have died. Who do you fear?

Trust and fear comes together. Knowing this almighty God makes me fear Him. By fearing prevent me from doing the right things and act in righteousness. By knowing Him, allow me to trust Him. God has exercised grace and mercy, a God that provides, a God that heals...

During the get away with Rachael last weekend, the focus for the family upbringing should be on the walk with God based on His righteousness and integrity. The world has set a standard for parents and child to follow - study hard to get the results, get into a good school.. But God taught us that the focus is on the integration and teaching about God. Imagine the success in getting good results but no involvement in God, or worst still prise God only when there is good results.

As first generation Christian, our objectives is to leave a legacy for the second generation children to know, trust and fear God. In little or big things, good outcome and bad happening, we still acknowledge our God, put our trust in Him and walk right in fear of Him. Amen.

John 21
Remember your calling.
Stick to your calling.

Peter was called to be fisher of men, but he went back fishing.
Jesus had to remind them of the calling, to be fisher of men.

9 When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

Jesus don't need the fish that Peter fished. He had the breakfast prepared. He showed them again He would be with them.

v19 And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”
Stick to your calling and be faithful to it.

Of course the first is to know your calling, the purpose God has for you.
He may have called this family to places, to rural area to reach out to the orphans, but regardless, our call is to bring up godly children that will follow Jesus.

The world has its standard. In John 21 is about the number of fish that they can caught in one night. It will be a failure to return empty handed. But Jesus don't need the fish.

So it is whether we stick to God standard and His calling, giving up the standards of this world and stick to the calling God has for us.

See how Jesus provide the fish for breakfast, even though Jesus helped Peter to haul in a large net of fish.

What do you want? Stick to your call.

John 20
Four person, Mary, Peter, John and Andrew.

Mary was the first one to visit the Lord's tomb, but did not go in to take a look.
Peter heard about the Lord's resurrection, ran the first to the tomb.
John outran Peter, but did not enter the tomb.
Peter was the one who entered the tomb first.
John entered, saw the cloth and believe.
Jesus appeared to Mary first and she believe.
Jesus later appear to Peter and the rest and they believe.
Andrew did not go to the tomb, missed out on Jesus appearance, but unless he see the Lord scar and unless he touched them, he would not believe.

How about you? Mary, Peter, John or Andrew.
I heard about the Lord, but unless I see Him and touch Him, I will not believe, like Andrew.

These were the people who had walked and had knew Jesus. How about those who has yet to know Him?

It was not the carnal man that knew Jesus but the spirit man. They can see, but not believe, they may see and believe without any need to explain the gospel.

The connecting point is the spirit man. We who believed Jesus and had received the Holy spirit should pray and ask that the Holy spirit minister to the spirit man of those who don;t believe.

The level of believe also permit me to understand the different "type" of personality and each has a different way to acknowledge Jesus. No point being so stress of why they don't believe.

I pray that God will continue to minister through the Holy Spirit and speak to my father about Jesus. In ways I cannot comprehend, speak to his spirit man. Amen.

John 19
The internal struggle of Jesus just before His death was described by how Jesus prayed and tears like blood the night before He was crucified.

He suffered the physical pain, but endured through. He did not "die" half way while carrying the cross, or bled to death from the hitting and flogging. He was nailed and maintain his conscienceness.

v30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

What a way to conclude. He asked to end and it end, but remember, he suffered before he came to this stage.

The process that Jesus went through. But the promise and the end - Jesus knew.

Do we know the end, the plan..., but do we know the the route to it and it may be not without pain or suffering.

But during so, do we know God? Enjoy the step with Jesus, enjoy the process in down and up, but knowing well that we will finish well.

John 18
38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in him.

If Pilate has let Jesus continue to state "What is truth".. Not that any situation can change, but Pliate heart may change.

Peter in this chapter denied Jesus 3 times as predicted.

Judas betrayed Jesus and was there to witness Jesus arrest.

Situation arises, but the responses was different. Pliate refuse and don't bother to heard the truth. Judas knew the truth, but harden his heart against Jesus for greed. Peter knew the truth, but denied Jesus because of fear.

We live in this world set by and govern by worldly standard. To know and to conform or to be in the world but not in the world. What am I chasing about? What am I trying to prove?

This week the same questions surface - what is God promise to you, that I can claim? Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

I wait and the Lord has a lot of things to work in me. I see the day that I can soar with Jesus on wings like eagle.

Also Joshua 24:13 I gave you a land on which you had not labored and cities that you had not built, and you dwell in them. You eat the fruit of vineyards and olive orchards that you did not plant.’

Yesterday, I asked for how to get His annointing, the reply is that it has to be catch. And this annointing is a gift and it has to be use.

So do I keeping wandering? Like Pilate who do not want to know the truth, or like Judas who greed for the world or like Peter who denied because of fear.

I knew the truth, I choose not to greed for the world or fear them. Yes indeed, in my vision statement, to help those who are economically deprived. Not for my glory for that will be greed. Not knowing how to do it because of fear.

The Lord will lead and he will guide, so that glory goes back to Him. But I must be subject to the discipleship training of the Lord, claiming His promise and yet overcome the greed and the fear that the world will want to grip me.

I present myself as a transition from the old generation to the new. I want to be like Joshua. Someone God took notice of and use him from the old generation to the new to lead and take over the land. Amen.

John 17
v1 glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you

We believe in the word, believe in Jesus and believe in God. What's next? As a disciple of Jesus, like Jesus, is to do the things such that God can be glorify. Like the way Jesus pray, may glorify you.

The world see the physical blessings God has given us, the things that we do (the talents God has bless us), so that the glory go to Him.

v13 that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

But also the joy that the world may see in us.

We are the walking bible, the disciple of Christ that walk the talk.

John 16

v8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

When nobody sees, without God, without Jesus, and without the conviction of the Holy Spirit, I have no conscience of doing wrong. The world owes me, I will take it back..

But the spirit man in me tells me that I cannot be so. What is the fear as long as by the world standard you are not caught by the laws. I cannot go on sinning, because with sin I cannot be standing on Holy ground. Not that I want to be perfect, but that I want to be part of God's plan.

To be in His plan, is about total obedience. Full obedience is inclusive of the conviction by the spirit of correcting the wrong doing - obedience to the Holy Spirit.

This includes any procastination to act when prompt by the Holy Spirit.

I may not comprehen God plan for me, but I am convicted that the Holy Spirit is the Helper God has for me to lead me in my path toward His will.

John 15
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

I remembered the situation in NS. I amy not acknowledge it, but with God I can do much more. During the start of the SOC (Standard Obstacle Course) I would pray. I hated the low wall. But once I cleared it, I am like a deer. I always ended in top 5.

A lot of time, I went through situation with my own strength. But I have learnt that in God I have the multiplication effect.

The key is abides in Him, and so bears much fruit.

The dependent on God is more than just knowing God. It is also about having Him in me and allow the Him to do the will and the plan He has for you.

John 14
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

If Jesus is the Son, who is God? This was a question ask by my domestic helper.

The concept of Trinity is not easy for my children as well. If God is the Heavenly Father, who is Jesus?

It all sum up to the love of God. God refuse to give us up. He sent Jesus, His son, who is also Himself, who is also God, to die for us. The concept of the Father and the Son as one, but separated for us inorder to love us.

The journey begins yesterday with me going for almost a 2 months leave. Let it be a faith journey with God and I believe He will take and guide me into the promise plan.

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, [6] to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

He has shown me through the "story" of David and Bessebath, a sign that I will be given an active job. But as the story goes, I am also reminded of lust.

I have too ask God about China, that I am sadden that I have no opportunity to go there or to work there yet. God reminded me of the verse that I shall eat of the vine in the vineyard that I did not plant. God will have his plan work out.

I too pray that in all I do, I partner God. Let the Holy Spirit be my guide in my work and my walk.
