2 Sam 14
David grew in stature. Another set of problem arises - family and siblings rivalry.
Is it part of a generation curse of lust that passes on from David to his son Amnon?
Did David bring up well the next generation?
The acts by David's son are not to be condone.
As parent, as the first generation of believer in the family, how do we bring up the next generation?
My sons and daughter do not seek and know God. They know God first and therefore we need to help them seek Him out.
Indeed as first generation Christian, there are many unseen things in the spiritual realms as well as physical that is called the generation curse. Lord I want to put them behind and that what the previous generation did to my generation will not be pass down to the next generation.

2 Sam 11-12
David and Bathsheba.
What Daivd did displeases the Lord. 12:8 And I gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your arms and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were too little, I would add to you as much more. 9 Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight?
What went wrong. David was not fighting when it was time for kings to be fighting. He stood outside. Nothing wrong, He saw Batsheba, nothing wrong. Bathsheba bath outside. David saw. Well nothing David can do.
But the problem starts becasue David choose not to stop there.
There are many temptations, but are they beyond what we can bear. Joseph did the right thing, he remove himself away from the source of temptation. But the greatest is this Joseph, so that he may not sin against the Lord.
David recognised that he has sin against the Lord. But has already given in.
Lord, as for me rid me of sins so that I may not sin against you. I am not perfect, the temptations are not perfect, but I should not give in and test how much I can take them.

11 And he said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me, but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come and help you. 12 Be of good courage, and let us be courageous for our people, and for the cities of our God, and may the Lord do what seems good to him.”
Joab, the commander of the Israel's army said the above. He did and plan as what man should do, but may the Lord do waht seems good to him.
The battle is for the people, for God and the results belong to Him. Such is the attitude of Joab.
Lord, in the same way, let my attitude be like that of Joab. Be it unto you, according to you will.

David knew that God has established his kingdom. He knew that God has also disposed of Saul. He loved Jonathan. He married Saul daughter.
He did not rejoiced over the death of Saul, nor did he plot against Saul to kill him. To many of Saul's follower, it seem right to favour David and uses the death of Saul to gain status.
David showed kindness to Joanthan by having Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul to eat at his table and have all, v7 And David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father, and you shall eat at my table always.”
First David did not rejoice over the death of his enemies, in particular the Lord's annointed. Secondly, he remembered Jonathan who had helped him.
David acts look very man-way of appreciation. But looking at his heart, he remembered the goodness that the Lord had showered on him, concerning Saul, regarding Jonathan.
Rememberer the blessings , rememberer the goodness of the Lord, in good times and in bad times. It sound easy to remember the Lord in good time. But most would knew that success is through their own strength and forget that it was the Lord that has bring us so far.
Count my blessings. The Lord has bless me with Rach and 3 lovely children. A father that has brought me up. A sound mind that I may know the Lord, have a good job that I enjoyed as well as ventured into business... Thank you

v14 the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went. 15 So David reigned over all Israel. And David administered justice and equity to all his people
What was the secret of David success? Simply the Lord establish them.
The is nothing much you should do, except to abide in the Lord. David started of simply tending sheep for his father, fought Goliath because he defiled the army of God. David choose not to touch the Lord's annointed one and whatever he does, david has God in his heart.
Yes, everyone want the success, but success started with us right with God. Help me Lord to keep my family right with you, that my wife and children will know you and love you. May you be please with the works of our hearts and that they may be pleasing unto you.

Do you have the heart for God? 你有上帝的心吗?
2 the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells in a tent.”
David was not asking the Lord for a blessings. the Lord did not ask Him to build a house so that His glory may be made know. David did not ask the Lord what he can do for Him and the Lord answered do this or that.
This was what the Lord said, 6 I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up the people of Israel from Egypt to this day, but I have been moving about in a tent for my dwelling. 7 In all places where I have moved with all the people of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges [1] of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, saying, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’
The people of Israel, none of them had mentioned to each other or suggest in one way or another to build a house for the Lord, assuming that the tent was fine for the Lord. Or it was with the assumption that if the Lord wants to build Himself a house He would asked someone to do it.
Of course if you have not know God, fine. But if you have known God, who is the Lord to you. He who has bless you so much. Yes it is easy to ask what you want me to do and I will do it for you. Sure?
god is just the Lord who wanted you heart. He dont need anything from you and He lack nothing. If he say so, it will be done. So it is not the things you can do for Him, it is your heart.
What is then that you are doing throughout the day that God is still in your heart?

David wanted to bring back the ark, but on the way back, 6:v6 And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah, and God struck him down there because of his error, and he died there beside the ark of God. 8 And David was angry because the Lord had burst forth against Uzzah.
Should David be angry? Of course, as man. The intention he started was good t- bring the ark back, but something went wrong and the ark was not back where David indented. In addition, someone died.
v9 And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?”
His anger turned to fear. Why? who are we to be angry with God? What do we have against Him? The Lord choose He chooses.
Yes David was angry at first, man nature, but he saw and realised the sovereignty of God.
Recognize the sovereignty of God. Who are we man against God? If we knew who this God is, we will be like Daivd who fear Him more than we are angry with him.
