Time to make straight with the Lord.
What is not right - make it good. The normal way of life will be disrupted - why? The people had gone wayward - The Lord has turned away His face - no comfort concerning the destruction of the people.
Nothing seems to get right.
But the application question is how then to get right? The answer is in verse
And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. And I will fasten him like a peg in a secure place, and he will become a throne of honor to his father's house.
(Isaiah 22:22-23 ESV)
This generation neglects, the second generation forgets, the third generation rejects.
How then it is so important to anchor the right things in God in this family that the children can see and know this God. The govern values and principle is based on biblical value.

And the remainder of the archers of the mighty men of the sons of Kedar will be few, for the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.” (Isaiah 21:17 ESV)
Instead of be fruitful and multiple, the word used is "be few".
How then be not the people or the generation that be made few.

As the Lord say so, it shall be done. 2 oracles, one concerning each for Cush and Egypt..
In chapter 20, a physical sign by Isaiah walking naked for 3 years and after that, Assyria will swept away Cush and Egypt in a similar way - naked.
How then, the oracle or the judgement be averted? Can it?
God must be angry or is it that Cush and Egypt has been cursed and therefore it was a due a "reaping" of what their forefathers has sow?
Well God is sovereign. Like David, the judgement will come because of sin or because of curse. But a pleading and a repentant was the way out - not defiance. For how can you defile a living God and hope to win.
It is therefore with prayer and petition, presenting that the Lord God of mercy and for His grace - spare some of us that all is well.
Keep the family in prayer that our walk be always right with God.

Isa 18 was an oracle concerning Cush and Isa 19 was an oracle concerning Egypt.
In Genesis 10:6, the sons of Ham were Cush and Egypt. Ham happened to the the son not favoured by Noah and as a result "cursed". Another son of Ham was Canaan. And a son of Cush was Nimrod - a hunter and a mighty warrior. He was however a rebel. And it was his descendants that build the city of Babel that displeases God.
So much "bad" about the sons of Ham, Cush and Egypt that even is Isaiah, they were
They shall all of them be left to the birds of prey of the mountains and to the beasts of the earth. And the birds of prey will summer on them, and all the beasts of the earth will winter on them. (Isaiah 18:6 ESV)
And there will be nothing for Egypt that head or tail, palm branch or reed, may do. (Isaiah 19:15 ESV)
I am the first generation Christian, let the walk be right with God. Let what I have built be right with God and for the glory of God.
There is indeed a need for prayer, a prayer that the generation of Jo and Mat be right with God and they continue in path of righteousness for his name sake.
I pray that this family will build not a tower of Babel, but what we build is pleasing to God. First a obedience instead of defiance. Not for self glory but for the name of God.
In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.” (Isaiah 19:24-25 ESV)

What comes in strength and in might, comes and go.
The former glory become no more.
What then is it left that is then consider worthy? We seek the pleasures and the treasures of the world.
Damascus was the capital city of ancient Aramean kingdom, rival and ally of Israel until conquered by the Assyrians.
In that day man will look to his Maker, and his eyes will look on the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 17:7 ESV)
Nothing seems to last, pleasures, treasures, rival or friend, but only the Lord is the everlasting Lord.
Seek then the maker of you, the Lord God and seek then what is it that you are make for.
For me it is not the treasures nor the pleasures, but the treasures and pleasures that my children may know about God. I have only friend in God and not rival.

This chapter is about the pride of Moab - that was made no more.
In contrast, the throne of David will be established with steadfast love, faithfulness, justice and righteousness.
I went through up and downs trying to establish a 'business' or a passive income generator, but it seems that I have not really succeeded. I have aged and has always hope that the success can made me proud.
With the intention to go slow on project, making sure that I will gain not extra stress, but able to build potential that leads to an establish again in passive income. The key ingredient therefore is not that the Lord needs it, but the purpose for that to be established. Yes I am stewards to the finance, but it is the Lord that sees it grow.
Lord I pray and seek you for what and where and how the sum was to be invested.

Moab - a consequences of the forefather wrongdoing. Something that was not undone and the sins continued and finally the destruction.
This served as a reminder of what the previous generation 'curses' to stop so that the next generation can serve the Lord 'free'.
Lord I lift them to you, my generation is the first generation of Christian, let the next generation continue to serve you as the Lord. I pray against any link to any form of statue worship, bad temper, any sexual sins (like the Moab committed in Lot).

I have been reading but not blogging.
Isaiah 14:1 The Lord will have compassion on Jacob and will again chose Israel.
No matter what - that Israel has forgotten their God, turn away, the Lord will always woo them back. He will continue to have compassion and Israel will always be the chose over the rest.
Like wise, as I have prayed today over my work, I leave my anxieties and worries to you. The something will happen, the fear of something will happen, what if I do not do well or is unable to complete... I leave them to you...
To put my trust in you knowing that whatever happen, God you are faithful. Like you have chose Israel, please do not forget me.. for you are faithful, even though I am not.
I pray and ask that let me turned and put my time, my work, my life and my family for your purposes. Purposes that what you have shut, no one can open and what you have open no one can shut (Isa 22:22)
