Zephaniah 1-3
The boos, which refer to the punishment God mentioned and intended in Zephaniah, are full of them. I picked up the wows.
Zep 2:3 Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility;perhaps you may be hiddenon the day of the anger of the Lord.
This verse stood what after a long list of intended punishments. It gives a breather, a small if that should the people seek Him, then prehaps. Our drought may be long, but the Lord has not forgotten us and the main reasons is that we are too caught up with our own strength fighting against the misfortune and foget to seek God.
2:7 7 The seacoast shall become the possessionof the remnant of the house of Judah,on which they shall graze, and in the houses of Ashkelonthey shall lie down at evening. For the Lord their God will be mindful of them and restore their fortunes.
This verse talked about remnant and that God will be mindful. God do not forget, He will also remember His promise. In our caught up with life, we foget God and go towards our own ways. It is not that God has forgotten the good promise He has for us, but we choose to get them in our own effort. Come back to God. Remnants refered to those that God has specially chosen, so that no matter what, He will use them to fufil the promise He has for mankind. Be that remnant and like the song goes, God searches to and fro looking for those who will interceeds ..
Lastly chpater 3:14-20 is about joy and restoration to Israel. So it is not all so dull and curses, but the long lasting intention for God is still about restoration with Him.
My promise from God, which I want to claim today is from Psalm 138:7-8
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life;you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.Do not forsake the work of your hands.
Even as I prepare my move, I need to stick close with God. Continue, Lord, as I pray and seek, that I will enjoy my time reading your word and seeking you.
