Isa 17

4 And in that day the glory of Jacob will be brought low,and the fat of his flesh will grow lean.5 And it shall be as when the reaper gathers standing grainand his arm harvests the ears, and as when one gleans the ears of grainin the Valley of Rephaim.6 Gleanings will be left in it,as when an olive tree is beaten—two or three berriesin the top of the highest bough, four or fiveon the branches of a fruit tree, declares the Lord God of Israel.
7 In that day man will look to his Maker, and his eyes will look on the Holy One of Israel. 8 He will not look to the altars, the work of his hands, and he will not look on what his own fingers have made, either the Asherim or the altars of incense.

The grace of God - even though the glory of Jacob was brought low, in the NIV v6 uses the word 'yet' gleanings will be left ...

The mercy of God - even though through all the wrong doing, so that we may come back to God. v7 will look to his maker and his eyes will look on the Holy One of Israel.

If we want to be grounded and in God, besides the laying the foundation in His word, dwelling in His worship, ask about the grace and the mercy of God (even as He prepares us for times of war, when we can look back and know that the Lord is good).

What is one thing we can give thanks to God for and what is one thing we see how God has see us through
