Isa 25

v1 O Lord, you are my God;I will exalt you; I will praise your name,for you have done wonderful things,plans formed of old, faithful and sure.

After so many chapters of wrath, destruction and punishment, finally 25 and it start with exalt you?

Why should I after so much pf what God has done, was there much that could be given thanks for?

The chapter goes on to explain why the wrath - ruthless people. The people has went astray, they wanted to be the Lord. Imagine what can happen when ruthless people take over the earth. There would be unjustice, no mercy for the poor, the widow and the fatherless. Imagine a ruler with no reference to God.

No wonder, God has to bring them to a heap of ruins. Back in Numbers and the OT, God has laid down procedures, for example of how a field should be glean - all so was to be done, so that the poor, the widow and the fatherless could be all be taken care of. A world with reference to God compare with a one that has no. Not that you cannot make decisions, but reference back to God.

With God, there will be celebrations and blessings. Without God, there will be ruins.

Its good to know that there is a God who cares and His grace and His mercy is there for us.
