John 13
v5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
Did Jesus washed the feet of Judas?
After washing the disciple feet, Jesus was troubled in the spirit. He even revealed to Peter who would be the betrayer, who would be the one Jesus dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
Immediately Judas went out in the night.
It was in front of the disciples, that Jesus mentioned that one of them would betray Jesus. Before that when he wash their feet, He too mentioned that among them one of them was not clean, v10but not every one of you.He even quote scriptures in v18 I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But the Scripture will be fulfilled, [4] ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’.
When he gave Jusda the bread, he spoke to him saying in v27 Jesus said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.”
Why am I so interested in Judas? Not Judas, but the number of obvious times that Jesus knew about the betrayal, but Judas was not repentant.
The passage is about grace. Everyone is not perfect, but where is our heart after the Lord. Are we still living in sin and again and again, despite the obious warning still refuse to come back to our senses?
Judas went out. Good. If he had gone out and cry, good. But unfortunately, he did not turn back.
I am leaving the past behind. It will be a new place, a new opening. Forgive me my Lord for all my wrong doings. No more. Amen.
Today, before I receive the offer, through the song "Days of Elijah", I shall be His labourer in the vineyard, His voice in the desert.
