2 Kings 17
v18 Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only.
It was the Lord who brought them out of Egypt. What that signifies is that the Lord had heard the cries of the Israelites and delivered them.
It was the Lord who conquered the land. What that signifies is that the Lord provides.
But the people continue and continue through generations to live in idolatry. How can a nation of God fall into sins, not by a tribe, not by a generation?
What brought them away from the Lord? The Lord was silent. No. v13 Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and every seer, saying..
v14 But they would not listen, but were stubborn, as their fathers had been, who did not believe in the Lord their God.
The temptations and the lure away from God is equally bad in this modern day. The internet, the digital media, the material temptation..
How can I keep a generation to stay close to God? It began with father. Walk right with God, with integrity for you are the leader. Show the next generation that the Lord your God is real. He provides.
Rachael was sharing with me about II. It is an instrument use by God. Then let God provides the resources. Not by my might, nor by my strength, nor by my wisdom. If II succeed, its success is because of God who choose to use it for His kingdom. Of this I pray.
I too pray that through II, it will also bring the family in unity and together we will serve God. I pray that as we serve, we see the realness of God and we see His provision. That Josef and his silblings may know and see and taste that the Lord is good. Amen.

2 Kings 15 and 16
These were some of the evil the kings of Israel and the King of Judah did- not to their enemies but towards their own people.
15:16 At that time Menahem (King of Israel)sacked Tiphsah and all who were in it and its territory from Tirzah on, because they did not open it to him. Therefore he sacked it, and he ripped open all the women in it who were pregnant.
16:3 but he (Ahaz the son of Jotham, king of Judah) walked in the way of the kings of Israel. He even burned his son as an offering, according to the despicable practices of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.
I will never do that, but these are not the evils God refer to, 16:4 And he sacrificed and made offerings on the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.
The very disowning of God - the need to fear God and the necessarity to know and acknowledge God.
How can I as parent breed a generation of God-knowing and God fearing children?
If we read in contrast 2 kings chapter 16:1-4 and comapre with 15:1-2, 15:32-33
The mother of the king who did right in the eyes of God was mentioned. 16:1-2 did not mention the mother. That give an answer as how we can bring up children that know God.
15:4 Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places.
The fear of God is therefore not about not doing the commitment of evil actions against humanity. It is about doing the right thing - acknowledging and worship the one and only God. He is everything.
Lord, I pray on stronghold that grips me and my family. Help me and I as father to remove these stronghold against my family. Show me any. Let us worship you and you alone, let not the distance away from you degrade the relationship this generation, the next generations and the generations to come. Teach me dear Lord, to know how to teach my next generation to know you and to worship you. Amen.

2 Kings 15
v8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months. 9 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin. 10 Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him and struck him down at Ibleam and put him to death and reigned in his place. 11 Now the rest of the deeds of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. 12 (This was the promise of the Lord that he gave to Jehu, “Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” And so it came to pass.)
Just as God promised Abraham that his descendents will be like the sand on the shore. What is one thing you will ask God for? Rachael asked that there will be God-knowing and God-fearing generations to come like the san on the shore.
Because of what Jehu did, God gave him the throne of Israel to the 4th generations. None of his sons did right before God. None plea for the continuation of blessings, so it stop at the 4th.
What is the things that we want to leave after us? Indeed a generation of God-knowing and God-fearing decendents for generations and generations to come.
We are the first generation of Christian, let this good works have no end.
The greatest appointment, the wealth, even a kings's throne and kingdom, what if the legacy does not continue... We will just be building up for ourselves that will last at most for a few generations.
I pray for both Rachael and myself that our focus will be for God to pass on the blessings and the promises for generations and generations to come. It will start with us and on Josef, Deborah and Matthias. Amen.

2 King 14
Did the sons of Jehu forgot the promises of God? God mentioned that because of what Jehu did, 4 generations would sit on the throne, but v23 Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, began to reign in Samaria, and he reigned forty-one years. 24 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.
This was Jehu 3rd generation and they continue to did evil in the sight of God. Not one of the king want to reverse the promises of God in pleading or in fasting.
Rachael mentioned about II, about the procastination. Let it stop, let II be a testimony to God. I will once again take charge of II and stop the flow of procastination. God in pleading and asking, I seek for a new start for II. Yes I am going to be busy with teaching, but I will not want to forget about the charge you have promise to II. It will be a blessings and Lord you will use it for community transformation and for poverty levitation for God's kingdom. Show me Lord how to build it up once again. Give your blessings once again in our trading and allow me to close all positions. I plea sorry and as you will show and direct me, let me do it and at once. Amen.

2 Kings 13
v7 For there was not left to Jehoahaz an army of more than fifty horsemen and ten chariots and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust at threshing.
The glory of Israel was over. A great far cry from the time David and Solomon ruled the land. The reasons - v2 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin; he did not depart from them.
As king, no matter how pathetic the state of Israel was, he still could enjoy himself, why bother. Anyway all live and die.
If such was the manner, the curse will continue and the failure for the generations to be in God's favour. But to some why bother again.
v17 And he(Elisha) said, “Open the window eastward,” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot,” and he shot. And he said, “The Lord's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Syria! For you shall fight the Syrians in Aphek until you have made an end of them.”
Even at the death, Elisha mentioned about God blessings instead of downfall to the king of Israel. God wants to bless, so its upto us to embrace that goodness of God.
I pray for the curse that has on my previous generation and my generation. I pray that Godshow favour to Josef favour and his next and future generations. So to Deborah and Matthias.
I pray against contentment and I will not fall into the traps of the king of Israel - caring only for this generation and not next. I pray that the Lord will guide my hand to instruct the next generation that they will always be in the blessings of God. Amen.

2 King 12
12:1 In the seventh year of Jehu, Johoash began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba. 2 And Jehoash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all his days, because Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
Again 2 person played an important role in King Johoash life - His mother or his aunt that play the nuturer. Johoiada, the priest did the role of priestly council. In fact, I believe that when Johoiada died, Johoash did the foolish things of giving tributes to King of Syria. v18 Jehoash king of Judah took all the sacred gifts that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah his fathers, the kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own sacred gifts, and all the gold that was found in the treasuries of the house of the Lord and of the king's house, and sent these to Hazael king of Syria.
As a technical person, I need priestly advice, vision and instruction to act on what is of God. I thank God for Steven that act as the priest for II. Not that I cannot hear from God, I am simply too distracted and want to hear exactly from God.
Johoash asked for money to repair the temple. They collected it for 23 years but the temple was not repair. Johoash stopped the collection and start to pay carpenters and workers for rebuilding.
We don't have to wait for for all the resources to get started. God Himself will provide. Our journey is of faith. I pray for II, that the direction and the project given of God, II need not to wait for all the resources, but by faith act on it because of God the provider. Amen.

2 King 11
11:1 Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family.
But God has promise David that there will always be a son to sit on the throne. David was the only one that God has promise so, so that his line will continue till Jesus.
Wow, such great favour. such blessings.
Two such person helped preserved the line of David. 2 But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king's sons who were being put to death, and she put [1] him and his nurse in a bedroom.
4 But in the seventh year Jehoiada sent and brought the captains of the Carites and of the guards, and had them come to him in the house of the Lord. And he made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the Lord, and he showed them the king's son.
Johosheba - the nuturer and Johoiada the priest. Both played a big role in King Joash, who walk right with God. He was seven when he sit on the throne.
As parent, I pray and ask that you annoint me as father, as husband of the family. You have put me in a role to care and nuturer my children. You have placed me so that I can lead them in a priestly and rightful manner.
I too pray for people like Johosheba and Johoiada, that will
I ask for you favour and your blessings to be on this family that we will continue to serve the Lord, our God for genereations and generations. Let this line not cease from having a name that will call the Lord our God. Amen.

2 Kings 10
Jehu slaughtered 70 sons of King Ahad. v11 So Jehu struck down all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, all his great men and his close friends and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
I can imagine the anger of the Lord. Surely some of his sons were innocent, but I believe the depth of the sins of following Baal that King Ahad had influence on his family.
v30 And the Lord said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in carrying out what is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.”
Compare and contrast the promises God has for Jehu.
In the same way, Lord, I pray that you teach me how to remove the sins of my past, the sins of my forefathers, that they will have no curse on my next generations. During the get-away with Rachael, I have denounce some of them. I will continue to watch my walk, and walk with integrity. Forgive me my Lord. I pray that I will not be like Jehu in v31 But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart.
Likewise, I pray that I can leave to my fourth generations and Josef to his fourth generations, the blessings and promises of the Lord.

2 Kings 9
v3 Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, ‘Thus says the Lord, I anoint you king over Israel.’ Jehu was annointed by God to be the next king of Israel.
Jehu was meeting his commanders when Elisha sent his servant to anoint him as the next king. When he came out, his commander asked him what happen. Elisha had a "bad" name among the present kings and commanders.
v11 they said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And Jehu said to them, “You know the fellow (Elisha) and his talk.”
But they know that Elisha was indeed a man of God. v12 And they (the commanders) said, “That is not true; tell us now.”
Wow, God has anointed and has given the authority for Jehu to be the next king over Israel. It was known that what God spoke through Elisha would come to pass. There was nothing to stop Jehu now, so the commanders accept jehu as the new king.
How did Jehu response?
How did Jehu fare in the end?
To me these are important questions. The first question answer the action. There is no need to be "humble" about it. "Nothing, not need to boost...". If God is for us, who can be against us. Further, answer the call, do not back off.
Indeed, hold on to the promise God has given. Act on it with obedience. I pray and ask the Lord for discipline to fulfil these actions.
The second question is how we end. As a leader, lead a life of integrity.
2 king 10 v30 And the Lord said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in carrying out what is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.” 31 But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart.

2 King 8
8:1 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can, for the Lord has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years.”
This woman was not poor. She had land, except for a son, whom the Lord gave her in advance age.
Now she has everything, riches and a son, why should she be removed and departed from her wealth.. so what if the famine come, she had riches that can withstand it...
Such are worldly thoughts and humanly thinking. I pray and as the Lord continue to minister to me on opening my spiritual eyes, speak to me as clear as Elisha spoke, that I may believe.
I also remembered that when Elisha spoke to the woman regarding a son, she disbelived. 2Kings4:16 And he said, “At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your servant.”
10 fold, you will multiply II by 10 fold. I pray that this is not just human imagination, but what you say, you can and will bring them to past.
I pray Psa 62:10
10 Put no trust in extortion;
set no vain hopes on robbery;
if riches increase, set not your heart on them.
2 king 8:v6So the king appointed an official for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now.”
I pray and ask for the returns...
Such are the feelings in my heart, a struggle between the blessings and the riches of the world. In one hand to bless and glory God from the riches, yet on the other hand worry about the heart that is right.
It will be nice to have the riches. I read about how a businessman gave 250k to a temple because the gods bless him in his business. I read about how NTu gave $1M to Sichuan for earthquake victims.
On one hand, I pray that II will raise up to that status, but I too know my heart, that I want II name to be in the newspaper or worst - my name.
Lord, what a struggle in me. To be with you will be enough, not my will but yours. I do not want a name for myself, that I will lose my self. I want my heart to be right with you, so that even with your blessings in riches and wealth, I will bless others and so with not even a thought to glory myself.
I pray for II to raise up to that occassion. Amen.

I want my heart to be right with you, so that even with your blessings in riches and wealth, I will bless others and so with not even a thought to glory myself.
I pray for II to raise up to that occassion. Amen.

2 Kings 7
v2 Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned said to the man of God, “If the Lord himself should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” But he said, “You shall see it with your own eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”
Within a day or two, how can such things happen, even if the Lord Himself should... For the price of food was so high the day ago and how can its price fall so much and so fast...
The story continued to tell how this captain indeed witnessed the happening, but did not get to eat of the food.
There are a lot of things I cannot comprehen. Open my spiritual eyes that I see and my heart that I may believe. I pray for this sensitivity to see and to believe such things can happen. I pray for such revelation and when so, I can take opportunity and grow my faith that I may see the glory of the Lord come to pass.
I remembered the story of Joshua, when God asked him to do "silly things" to take the city of Jericho. It was that complete obedience, the heart that believe and the spiritual eye that I can see the promises of God and that they shall come to pass.
Harden not my heart, so that I not may treat the word of God with disbelieve. We serve a God of impossible.
I long and wait or the day of great harvest, of great super natural profit.

Num 27:12-23
Joshua succeed Moses
Situational vs Visionary Leader
What makes a leader? As I was reading this passage, the Lord impressed upon my heart about two type of leaders - situational leader, visionary leader.
We are situational leader, for example, we are fathers - head of the household. In our workplace, we are teachers, head of the classroom or lecture hall. As situation leader, we make decision and lead and direct the moment of the situation as necessary.
As visionary leader, the vision has to be God given. As a visionary leader, it will be one that brings others to the vision and follow it.
Life, Lead and Legacy
God has prepared Joshua, long before he spied the land. v18 a man in whom is the Spirit.
Moses asked for a successor, for someone to continue to his role v17 who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be as sheep that have no shepherd.
The start out as leader being with our life, how we live it. The Lord look at the heart. The end of a leader is about succeed with a successor.
How can I lead if my heart is not right with God. I can only lead in moments of situation but not long run casting vision for others to follow. So Lord prepare my heart.
Leader takes responsibility. If it is only situation, Lord make the right decision. If you have given me the vision, guide me to cast it so that others may follow.
Impression vs Impact
At the end of it, as a leader it is not what the much that we have done for ourselves, an impression for the world to awe, but the impact we leave in the life of others. Lord, let me first impact the lives of my family and the people around me.
Follower or Leader - its how you live your life.
Ask the Lord - what role or situation am I in now? Be a follower or a leader, God has placed us in that location, for that role, for that situation. So the answer is how can I living my life out as a follower or as a leader. The Lord looks at the heart and prepares those who hears Him.
Situation or visionary - its how you lead in accordance to God's command
Ask the Lord- the situation you are in required you to lead and make decision. The vision God gave you need your responsibility. Regardless, its the Lord who lead and direct, are we then leading and acting in decision and responsibility in accordance to God's command?
Impression or Impact - its the legacy you want to leave behind.
You may be remembered for the way you lead or you may be remembered for the way you impact others. What the legacy you want to leave behind. Don't return to the Lord with an empty hand.

2 Kings 6
16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.”
Lord open my eyes that I may see, open my heart that I may feel.
I have failed to see the the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire. I have seen only what is physical that is within my physical vision and my mindful conception.
The Lord has promised great things and through me He will choose to use me to fulfil. Let me not limit God by what I can estimate or measure.
I know there are unfinish works the Lord need to do in me- my heart, so that my spiritual eyes can be open.
The mind and the will has boxed what God can do in and through me. The heart will bring me to near God and feel His heartbeat. The heart will also open and connect others through it.
Rachael also share from Psa 62:10
10 Put no trust in extortion;
set no vain hopes on robbery;
if riches increase, set not your heart on them.
The physical eyes see the wealth and set the heart on them. The spiritual heart set the on the things of God and set the spiritual eyes on them. Elisha servants saw the enemies, but Elisah saw the army of God.
