2 Kings 13
v7 For there was not left to Jehoahaz an army of more than fifty horsemen and ten chariots and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust at threshing.

The glory of Israel was over. A great far cry from the time David and Solomon ruled the land. The reasons - v2 He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin; he did not depart from them.

As king, no matter how pathetic the state of Israel was, he still could enjoy himself, why bother. Anyway all live and die.

If such was the manner, the curse will continue and the failure for the generations to be in God's favour. But to some why bother again.

v17 And he(Elisha) said, “Open the window eastward,” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot,” and he shot. And he said, “The Lord's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Syria! For you shall fight the Syrians in Aphek until you have made an end of them.”

Even at the death, Elisha mentioned about God blessings instead of downfall to the king of Israel. God wants to bless, so its upto us to embrace that goodness of God.

I pray for the curse that has on my previous generation and my generation. I pray that Godshow favour to Josef favour and his next and future generations. So to Deborah and Matthias.

I pray against contentment and I will not fall into the traps of the king of Israel - caring only for this generation and not next. I pray that the Lord will guide my hand to instruct the next generation that they will always be in the blessings of God. Amen.
