27 Jan 2015; Isa 9

27 Jan 2015; Isa 9

In the midst of fear and distrust, brothers against brothers, and with the enemies at their backyard, the gloom, the anguish, the dread.. filled the heart of the people.

In the midst, Isaiah prophesied: For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given. The government shall be upon his shoulder, and He shall be call wonderful, counselor, prince of peace.

A promise of, again God among us, this time not with a Tabernacle, but in physical form. When Jesus came, and died for us, He left not alone, but with the holy spirit. Also a promise that He will take us back to the Father.

There is no God who promise that we will be with Him. I have come to recognized that the world is empty without Christ, the wealth, the status and the power all will come to a naught.

My aunt lied on her death bed. Too much in slumber that not be able to bother about the matters of the world and even us when we visited her. My father, who mentioned that he wanted to go to the bank to transferred his account to my name, was too weak to physically do it. When I am having a headache last week, nothing matters - except God.

When surrounded by brothers who turned enemies and enemies right at the doorstep - what really matter.

Therefore, the soul of man that lives forever shall return to the everlasting God. What then keep us alive is the word of God. The word means nothing if the word failed to live within me and applied to others that they may know that for unto us a son is given, so that we can be with our creator.

21 Jan 2015; Isa 8:11-22

21 Jan 2015; Isa 8:11-22

But the LORD of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. (Isaiah 8:13 ESV)

Who is the Lord, but our God, the creator of the heaven and earth.

In this few days, I have not been feeling well, even though I have slept consistently, exercise ..

It gives me a bad feeling that when I had chest tightness but no numbness of limbs, I suspect a heart attack. My life is fragile and can go anytime.

I will then leave behind a lovely wife, 2 wonderful sons and a sweet daughter.

Even as I lay on my bed, I wonder what if I am not able to move - what then it is for all the works that I have done for the world, the wealth that I have accumulated...

What is all that matters except that we use all - all that we have and own to honour the Lord of hosts

Thename“LORD of hosts” occurs some 261 times in the Old Testament Scriptures. God is first called the “LORD of hosts” in1 Samuel 1:3. The wordLORD, capitalized, refers to Yahweh, the self-existent, redemptive God. The word hosts is a translation of the Hebrew word sabaoth, meaning “armies”—a reference to the angelic armies of heaven. Thus, another way of saying “LORD of hosts” is “Jehovah, God of the armies of heaven.” The NIV translatesYHWHsaboathas “LORD Almighty.”

Do you then not fear the Lord of hosts? Imagine on your death bed, there is no fear.. If you have the peace of God and the assurance of salvation - fine. But if you don't even bother about where your soul will go, its is a pity.

The fear of the Lord, brings and set us apart from doing against the law that the God has command us. It put things right, because we knew that there is a God that will pronounce judgement if the law are not obeyed.

Fear let you know that there is God. That in the last, all things must be accounted for.

19 Jan 2015; Isa 8:1-10

19 Jan 2015; Isa 8:1-10

When the enemy of Judah raise against her - from Syria and Israel, The Lord through Isiah prophesied - God is with us - Immanuel. Not once but twice in the short passage.

First in verse 8, then in verse 10.

Surely God is with Judah. If God is for us, what then can be against us. To add to that assurance, God gave a sign, a sign of a child. Before the child reaches certain age, a sign of something will occur. Likewise a sign of the birth of a child through a virgin.

Immanuel - where then is God in our midst? Where is my God in my house and at my work place?

God I invite you, your presence to be in our midst. Let peace and security, provision and love be assured in our family, among the children and at our work place.

17 Jan 2015; Isa 7:18-25

17 Jan 2015; Isa 7:18-25

With a small whisper, the Lord summons the flies of Egypt and the the bees of Assyria. We saw this in the movie "The Hobbits" and the figures in the movie do not exist.

The armies that the Lord raised put the land barren. Only briers and thorn were left. So much so that the people were put to shame. The men were shaven clean, an indication of humiliation.

The Lord will and can raise an army for His intended purposes. Am I or will I be part of the plan? On the contrary, will I be the subject of humiliation?

Even youth shall faint and be weary and young men shall fall exhausted. but they who wait on the Lord, they shall mount up with wings like eagle, they shall run and not be weary and walk and not faint.

I am not youthful or young, but with the Lord, I want and can soar. With the small whisper, the Lord will summon the army, will I be part of that army?

15 Jan 2015; Isa 7:10-17

15 Jan 2015; Isa 7:10-17

The Sign of Immanuel Again the LORD spoke to Ahaz, “Ask a sign of the LORD your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, and I will not put the LORD to the test.” (Isaiah 7:10-12 ESV)

I contrast this when God ask Solomon for a "wish". Ahaz did not ask what to ask. Gideon asked for signs so that he can be excuse from war.

I wondered if I am in Ahaz position, I don't have signs to ask for because I have doubt.

And he said, “Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also? (Isaiah 7:13 ESV)

Isaiah answerd that Ahaz was filled with too much fear. His sight was blinded. God was absent. Not only that Ahaz fear God for the wrong reason, he knew he was not right with God, not in a position to asked of God.

And God answered, for unto ask a son will be given and unto us a Son will be born. His name shall be called Emmanuel.

Where is God in your heart? Has I been straying too far away that God is no longer presence? Then suddenly in a midst of trouble, God intervene and help. I did not even ask, because I have no God. There is no longer a need to put trust in God, for He seem too impossible.

Therefore, I determine and ask that God change my heart, that I first draw back to Him and near to Him, each day and everyday. Amen.

12 Jan 2015; Isa 7:1-9

12 Jan 2015; Isa 7:1-9

When the house of David was told, “Syria is in league with Ephraim,” the heart of Ahaz and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind. (Isaiah 7:2 ESV)

There are fear, and fear from within. Brothers against brothers.

The house of Ephraim planned to attack Judah, it put fear in the hearts of King Ahaz. It might be least expected that a brother was in league with the enemy.

Jo is angry with Mat. I pray against it. Well as Rach pointed out, the cause may be due to me. It may be time for me to release all expectation of Jo and love him just as he is. Jo is always a lovable boy, people-orientated. God you have a best plan for him, keep him in Godly fear and in all he does, fear you.

I may be sure that I will not want to pay for expensive education in order to put his studies in the right path. But as long as he knows what he wants, the plans from you, I will support him. I do not want to worry about that how can he stand on his own, but know that the Lord will provides.

thus says the Lord GOD: “‘It shall not stand, and it shall not come to pass. (Isaiah 7:7 ESV)

Love Jo. Let the anger in Jo not stand against Mat, it shall come to pass.
