29 June 2016; Eph 4:25-32
I have been reading these verses over the last 3 days, trying to memorize them.
Basically - 4 things that Paul mentioned to avoid - put away falsehood, do not let angry go down with the sun, do not steal and lastly let no corrupt talk come out of your mouth. Also 6 things to prevent - bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, slander and malice.
All so that we talk in truth, let the devil has no grip over us, do honest work so that we can give or share, that what come out of our mouth be good for building each other up. Be kind and tenderhearted, forgiving one another.
It is about how we walk when no one is watching, how we react against our neighbor, how we perform in public and how we speak to our neighbor. Basically our response and walk when no one is watching and towards our neighbor.
For me I must watch how I walk and behave and response when in private. Let the devil has no grip over me that I may walk in righteousness and not be a person who walk in falsehood.
Press on into God and do not grieve the Holy Spirit. Be right, walk right, talk right and do right.

25 June 2016; Eph 4:20-24
But that is not the way you learned Christ!—assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
(Ephesians 4:20-24 ESV)
I am coming to the end of my Sheffield tour. It is a good trip that renew my routine. Yes I am tired but physically.
I need to put off my old self - that corrupt and deceitful desires by the renewal of my spirit and mind.
I need to put off my old sinful self through the renewal of my mind. I need to get rid of the corrupt desires, get rid of my former self.
Spending time with God is the way. I will mediate on the words on God in Eph, then Acts and Isaiah.
I will start the day off with a discipline of 5am, 515am run, followed by a time of worship and reading the word with journal.
It will be a force discipline way to get myself out of that deceitful nature and crawl back to life.

23 Jun 2016; Eph 4: 18-19
Paul used words like darkened, hardness of heart and callous.
What have you become and became.
The became is about death. Just good to be cut off and thrown away, left to rot.
The grip seem to be too strong that I cannot recover on my own. Continue in that path and you are doom.
Oh how, I pray for help, a release from that bond that stronghold. Lord help, that the giver of life, I may have regeneration. That the callous, the harden heart and the darken soul be remove. Let life flow again.
Let when the desires cone be satisfied that do not go into cravings. Let me be strong and run away, that I may have no energy left.
Oh Lord, help and I cried out to you. Amen

22 June 2016; Eph 4: 17-19
The New Life Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. (Ephesians 4:17-19 ESV)
Well let the meaningless of continuing to sin stop me from sinning, but by grace of God help me to purge. You must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds - meaningless and achieving nothing. The worst is the alienated from life of God.
I pray for a righteous walk - a walk that is worthy and differentiate from and as a Gentile.
I stop here because if I do not get right with the walk with God, I remain alienated.

Instead, rather.. Well to me no matter what..
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV)
A simple apologies makes peace and bond each other in love. Moving on from taking care or pay attention to yourself - the food you take, the exercise routine,, the sleeping routine, spending time in words, prayers and worship - the physical and the spiritual.
I have not established a discipline and routine fully. But it is a good start in Sheffield. I start the day at 6am and I need 2 hours excluding breakfast to run, worship and word. I miss out prayers which I will have to find a place and time in NP during lunch to do so. As for breakfast, a cup of milk with oat will do, but it may not last me till lunch. The habit of snacking will come in and the discipline will be gone. For 8 am class or for time that I have to leave at 715 or 730am, breakfast will be after the first lesson - maybe packed bread with coffee.
Lunch time, I will sure have. A common classroom at Blk 5 for just half and hour.
Well speaking the truth in love we grow up in every way into him, so that when every part is working properly, makes the body grow. This is the beginning of take care of the flock under. It starts with truth, you walk with God, then in communication, your speech, so that love tells the story of your walk and when you talk people listen.
How do I know the truth - Christ - the actions of pay attention to yourself. Now walk so that others may see that truth.

20 June 2016
Unity in the Body of Christ I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, (Ephesians 4:1 ESV)
What is a worthy call or a call that is worthy?
It is none when the Lord called you. A king call you, what is the response? Surely I will heed or ohh I must have done something not right and dare not take the heed.
I somewhat belong to the later. I felt at times that I am filled with sins, not worthy and dare not..
What Christ through grace make us worthy., in context, Eph 4 , Paul therefore urge us or implore us. Therefore we are ready, we are worth, so that Paul implored us to walk in the manner that is worthy of the call.
I am made worthy because of Christ through grace and mercy and not what I did that the king may call me worthy.
Therefore, break the paradigm, I am worthy because Christ made me so. This I pray that I may go forward to the calling -
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, (Ephesians 4:11-12 ESV)
What then am I called to? I will put across Acts 20:28 Pay attention, take heed to your self. I have been in the neglect of my spiritual self.
Obvious, the flock that is under me is my family, and the students that I interact with in school. Naturally I am made a minister, an evangelist in my workplace. The ministry will come and I will serve the Lord in capacity that I can offered, such as Sunday school and cell.
Of yes, a prayer that the Lord will lead my family to a cell that all of us will be able to growth and more importantly be part of a body of Christ.

19 June 2016; Eph 4
God called us. Wow. At times I do feel that I am not worthy of the call. I continue to sin and fall into sin and it seem never able to get perfect.
But it is God who call us and consider us worthy of the calling. It is by grace and mercy that we are turned around.
Unity in the Body of Christ I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, (Ephesians 4:1 ESV)
The context for therefore is from Eph 3, the gospel has been made known, God has called us, gave us the wealth be filled with all the fullness of God.
Paul therefore implore us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling. Just as I implore Jo and Deb to work hard, Paul implore me to walk right with Him.
How we should walk - with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(Ephesians 4:2-3 ESV)
How we walk showed the worthiness of Christ in us. We are the gospel. Therefore walk in that worthiness. SO that when we walk the talk, others will see and listen to the talk. When we talk, people listen. Therefore before GO (talk) is our walk.
Pray pray and pray, seek and seek and seek. If it cannot be purge, then you need someone help. This I pray.

17 June; Eph 4:12-13
17 June; Eph 4:12-13
to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, (Ephesians 4:12-13 ESV)
I started with Rach devotion about asking the Lord, to lean on Him and that He will gives you the desires of your heart.
I pray and asked that the Lord who has and will provide the bread and bacon for the family. As for me, I pursue the intend - building up the body of Christ.
The place of work provides the platform for me to seek the opportunities, the divine appointtments to meet people. The people I meet, are the one that I should be equip for to bring them the knowledge of the Son of God. Its about people.
The time to build an "empire" is building up the body of Christ, the purpose ALL attain to the unity of the faith, to mature and fullness of Christ.
It is a simple purpose.
Therefore, instead of spending time to earn more money (for what purposes except to enrich yourself - but ask and know that the Lord will provides). Instead of building a business and make myself a boss (for what purpose except to be a good boss and influence others), I can be one now. Lord, then let me be a boss that I can influence, not in a business of in a company (though it is my desire).
Well these are the desires of my heart - I see company with innovation and places for employees interaction with pantry filled with soft drinks and chips. But for what purpose? This I ask and put forth a desire.
As for today, in the current settings of influence, I pray for divine appointment to share Christ with some.

15 June 2016; Eph 4
15 June 2016; Eph 4
I started the day with a morning run. Spend the time clearing emails, watsapp.. What a distraction of an unending work.
As we start late today, I had more time. I spend the time having a wonderful time in praise. Sorry God for the wretched man I am. I have to run, run back to you.
The unending work that the world has for me, but a transient life - what then makes the time spend here fruitful on earth? Pslam 90 - to establish the works of my hands. What works is then that is done on earth that can be established eternally - the things that is on God's heart.
It therefore starts on myself - coming back to God, coming back to the heart of worship.
Acts 20:28 - Pay careful attention to yourself
Which area? - Know his purposes. How? Come back to God again and again.
Eph 4 continues to dwell on unity. Again, that unity starts from within - the struggles I have with my God. Be united in the purpose.
I pray and ask first that God forgive, mercy and grace. That I know my God again, that I come back to Him again.

14 June 2016; Eph 4:4
14 June 2016; Eph 4:4
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
(Ephesians 4:4-6 ESV)
How can my family move as one? The aim, the end purpose is God. The objective is clear. The purpose for the body to move as one - for God. So the question remains - to do what?
Of course the answer lies with me - to seek the wisdom and the purposes of God for the family.
In yesterday devotion, that seeking start off with repentance - to come back to God again and again- for the things that you are not right with God.
So that is my part. Where does the family start? Ensure that we are grounded in the word of God and engaged in prayers.
Of course it start with me - an influence for my children to imitate.
So as for me, start with the word, and in prayers, To seek God purpose for the family and to learn to rely on His wisdom.

14 June 2016; Psalm 90
14 June 2016
Psalm 90
From everlasting to everlasting you are God.
For us who are man, our life here is limited.
Live a life for the purpose of God's calling.
The cell group watch the movie War room. I did not and did not managed to find a time to watch.
But on the plane to Sheffield, I am surprise to find this Christian theme movie on Turkish Airlines.
It is a about prayers. The battle we had is not against the people, the matters that disappoint us or failed us. I did not even fight the battle in prayers and leave the result to God.
I need to lead the family, to take back the authority and proclaim that Christ is the Lord of my household.
The things on earth will pass away, seventy and eighty years. So what do I want for the family? A family in Christ and for Christ, that the knowledge for God continues.
It starts with me, it starts with prayers.
If life is transient, when did the Psalm 90 says that God
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! (Psalm 90:17 ESV)
What then is our work that should be established?
Our life and labor in God has eternal consequences.
Our labor is not in vain.
Let us be found faithful. Not in the sight of man because that do not last. It must then be in the sight of God. We do not serve for the applause of man but for the approval of God. We must be found faithful in the books of God, in the economy of God and in the sight of God. For example, in the sight of God, we have finish well that we have finished all the things God has assigned us to do.
The key to finishing well is repentance. There is not one who will not fall. Then do we know how to stand in the grace of God, but be able to get up and stand in the grace of God. to rise up again and again and again. Repentance is about turning around with the intention to do so.
To engage the will of God in our lives. Beside knowing the will of God, but to do. To not only to pursue but to prefer. Rom 12. To do good and acceptable things that is according to the will of God.
Seek God and his agenda that God has for this family.
We must have the wisdom beyond our own. Psalm 90: 12
So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12 ESV)
How to invest this short life in the wisdom of God. Wisdom is about knowing the word of God through the scriptures.
We must have the strength beyond our own. The strength comes from our prayers. When we work, we work. When we pray, God pray.
