27 Apr 2011; Prov 1

Proverbs 1
2 To know wisdom and instruction,
to understand words of insight,
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing,
in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 to give prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth—

5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning,
and the one who understands obtain guidance,
6 to understand a proverb and a saying,
the words of the wise and their riddles.

Verse 2-4, if you want to...., then verse 5-6 let you be so...

If I want wisdom, instruction, understand and insight, wise dealing.. be able to give prudence, be able to give knowledge and discretion ...

Indeed these are the qualities of a wise man with depth of comprehension and at the same time wise in all that we do, wow.

I pray for that, for II, for my dealings with my children and family and my students.

Then, let me be wise to hear and increase in learning..
How to increase in learning

verse 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction
.

What is right and what is correct is grounded by the truths in God. How can we know that it is wrong to murder if God has not told us so. The line drawn between wise and fool, right and wrong lies in our knowledge becasue we fear God.

Erase, therefore my sins, let me grow in fear and in your knowledge. Let all that I do be right and be wise in you.
