4 July; Eph 5: 1-5

4 July; Eph 5: 1-5

Walk in Love Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. (Ephesians 5:1-5 ESV)

Walk - be alive. We are made in the images of God, as His beloved children. Therefore like Christ - walk in love - for the purpose as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

On the contrary, we are alive, for ourselves. We enjoy this life (no wrong) but to an extend made pleasure out of sex (which God made for the purpose of marriage, be fruitful and multiple and populate the earth, so that it we inherit the earth.

But sadly, sexual immorality, impurity and covetous became rampant and became part of life.

I pray that this sin be away from me - let no filthiness in sexual impurity cause me to be separate from the purpose of God. That I will be a fragrance to Christ - as is proper among saints.
