Numbers 22:21-23:30, Luke 1:57-80, Psalm 58, Proverbs 11:12-13
After 400 years of silent with no God appearence and no prophet spoke, finally, the birth of John and the coming of Jesus.
There are remnents that God keep for Himself. Zechariah is one of them, for God know that he will hear and he would obey. By the way he and his wife insisted to call their son John instead of Zechariah, because all the relatives felt that no one in the family has ever called or John.
Zechariah never knew the end of John, or maybe he did. John was beheaded. I believed that should Zechariah knew about this, would he still obey?
God's plan is bigger than ours.
Luke 1:76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,77 to give knowledge of salvation to his peoplein the forgiveness of their sins,78 because of the tender mercy of our God,whereby the sunrise shall visit us [4] from on high79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
That will make the difference when we see the salvation plan of God and compare with our own little ambitions.
