25 Jan 2016; Gen 50
Genesis ends with Joseph in a coffin, but a promise that God told Abraham, Issac and Jacob. A land that the Lord promise that was not claimed. Joseph told the sons of Israel that God:
v24 And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but nGod will visit you and bring you up out of this land to the land othat he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
How long, so long that a new king arose and forget the good things Joseph did. But the land was occupied and the plan is to claim it by force and it need number. God bless the Israelite - fruitful and multiply. They were made strong and indeed stronger than the Egyptian who begin to fear them.
With our strength, we will claim the land. Abraham only bought a cave as a burial ground and even the private army of Abraham who defeated the five kings is only 318. It was not possible. Our human eyes are too short sighted. We hurried and fall short of His purposes.
We failed to see the long term plan of God. We failed to see His eternity.
Pastor Edmund told the story that if his child died, he will give thanks, simply the child is in the hand of God and know where. Not the temporal but eternal with God.
