Our Allegiance

Knowing who God is - is theology. Head knowledge does not bring about a relationship. As such our allegiance who us who our master is and therfore proclaim to the world who our God is.

2 Chr24.
2 Chr 24:2 And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

Joash sat on the throne when he was seven. Jehoiada had thought the boy well and serve the Lord well.

2 Chr 24:17 Now after the death of Jehoiada the princes of Judah came and paid homage to the king. Then the king listened to them. 18 And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

Joash anchored on Jehoiada, instead of making the Lord his God.

From the head - knowledge, we must put them into the heart. I started knowing God very much with knowledge in the head. Without sinking the knowledge, the knowing of God into my heart, God can never be my Lord. In Chinese, I am still the boss - 做主, I am still my own master.

Our allegiance to God - ackonowledging that He is the Lord requires us an act of surrender. Surrender is far more than an action, it is the willingness to die to self and allow God to take you more and more.

Our act of surrender begins with a broken heart and the fear of the God. It will be a series of events and encounters before we acknowledge this God is our Master. But it is our decisions to recognize in such events and encounter that God desire us to be closer with Him - so that and thereby acknowledging that He is the Lord, our God.

A bad day is not necessary no good - that we must face, but know that God has better plan and promise though that bad day. Therefore, by recognizing a bad event as a process of growth, a time of trusting God and that He who is our mater is in control.

An encounter with God can empty us - without this emptying - God cannot fill us. An encounter made us see God and know that He is real and He is near. The Lord out God that we serve is not some spirit and "idol" that we cannot see or touch. He called you into His presence - then who are we and why are we not following? Break that stubbornness to self and know that the Lord is our God.
