Indeed how marvelous is the works of God.

Great is the works of God that He is so worthy of praise.
The works of works display His awesome. The works show His mercy, His faithfulness, His righteousness, His covenant with His people...

BUT how much do we see the wow? Or who cares...

The works tell about who God is and this knowledge for us to understand Him comes from the fear of the Lord. Psalm 111 ends each sub-section with the fear of the Lord.

This fear brings about a respect of who God is (theology), a submission to God (our allegiance, our idenity and our purpose), a knowledge of God (settings our value and our priority) and finally bringing a relationship with Him (empowerment and laying foundations)

You may not appreciate God works (the creation of the skies and the flowers) if you do not even care about who is. Not even to know God brings about a who cares attitude towards the works of God and that attitude brings about a selfish behaviour. It will be all about me.

The reverse starts with a desire to understand God and the understanding is shown through His works. Psalm 111 talks about the greatnes of His works and the purpose is to bring us closer to Him.

I pray for myself and my family. Not only through good times and bad times, but we can always stop to marvel at your works and the works you have done in our lives.
