Solomon and his wisdom

First of course - being right with God, he has asked for wisdom to govern God's people and God bless him for that.

In the first act of wisdom, he establised his kingdom. He killed his brother Adonijah and Joab and repalced the priest. These people had rebelled.

Mercy and judgement and doing what is right. Solomon was not soft, but acted harsely and without mercy against the people who rebelled against him. Compared this to David who allow the indecisiveness in dealing with his household matter to take full bloom and allowed his son to rebelled.

Solomon has the foresight in rooting out what is not right . But how much can we like Solomon and not be branded like what Jesus say - let those who has no sin throw the first stone? Don't we have mercy or worst still too much compassion and let the evil doers had an advatage over us?

The ket is wisdom - the act of wisdom, which is how we are right with God in our heart in the first place. Do what is right with God. It may be mercy and it may be judgement, but it is about doing what is right in your heart, doing what God wants.

I admit this is difficult for me - mercy and judgment. I can only pray and ask God for wisdom in matters like this. Even I should end a matter with judgement - it will not be based on what I think should be a righteousness action, but what God intend to do.

Such a difficult topic and I can only pray that God will be my guide in the actions and decisions I should that.
