18 Mar 2014; Rev 17
The scheme of the devil is clear - it will use the material things of the world to lure us away. John saw a beauty that he greatly marvel, she must be of great beauty. But
The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality.
(Revelation 17:4 ESV)
Clearly, if Satan cannot get us by persecution or by affliction, then it is by seduction. A seduction to wealth, to sexual immorality, and to the hope in the power and in pride.
Therefore be aware and be awake.
Reading from Psalm 61
Lead Me to the Rock
To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. Of David.
Hear my cry, O God,
listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to you
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I,
for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
(Psalm 61:1-3 ESV)
How can then I call upon the Lord? If sin is found, how then I can come to God? Therefore let me come to God and be away from Satan.
Rev 17 is about the false bride of God - the woman of Babylon. You cannot be the bride of Christ and be the bride of Satan.
Indeed, it is a wake up call - you are called as a bride of Christ - to be keep pure for God. the world in Rev 17:4 - celebrate the immorality and glamorize it. The majority of the world will go for it. Even it is such a thin line for us as Christian to have difficulty deciding right and wrong.
Let then, I come back to God - let the conscience inside me guide - and if it is no - then it is no. Live a life not sold for sins that nobody see. Forgive me and let me be able to walk upright with God.
I pray for a recovery, for one life that lives for Christ.
