31 Mar 2014; A holy God
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles
And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics.
(Luke 9:1-3 ESV)
Doing God work do not need a lot of resources - take nothing for your journey. It takes a heart.
God gave us the power and authority for the works - are you sure you have received it? If yes - do you know the giver? The battle is always against the demons and the job is always to proclaim the kingdom of God.
God is a holy God - are we holy? Is our walk righteous? Do we fear sins - that the world has made too many looks like they are ok - as long as they do not harm or kill anybody.
My take is for myself that it hides in your conscience and hinder and allow a hook to stop me and being accuse for doing God's work. We serve a holy God. Things of God matters. We don't need what the world claim the resources we need - God will provide, and therefore pursue the righteousness in His kingdom.
I felt hindered - a struggle between the things of this world and the things of God. What do I want to be remembered? It is time that I pursue what is lasting ....
Forsake Me Not When My Strength Is Spent
In you, O LORD, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame!
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
incline your ear to me, and save me!
(Psalm 71:1-2 ESV)
