20 Mar 2014; Rev 18

20 Mar 2014; Rev 18

Rev chapter 6-18 is about the rise of the King - a call to trust Him. In the midst of all the judgement - trust Him. In the presence of the devil - trust Him, because God will put everything back in their proper place.

Rev 17 and 18 is about Satan, in particular the lure of Satan through Babylon. The Babylon of the ancient world was none other than the manifestation of Satan.

In this chapter 18, Babylon was brought down.

For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.” (Revelation 18:3 ESV)

She has been describe as the one who lure us away from God with sexual immorality (lust), grow rich (material wealth) and power (status and pride).

God called for us is

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; (Revelation 18:4 ESV)

When Babylon falls, the kings wept (this represent the government), people of status and power. The merchant of the earth (v11) wept and these group represent the rich, the wealthy and last v15, the merchants of their wares - the ordinary people like us wept.

Despite God call, everyone of the world wept. The world has its set of rules for promotion, for the way one should look, how one should dress, how one should carry ourselves, how much should we gain wealth, status. Even so, how "common" sexual actions and sins alike is no big deal. The internet, the social media.. How is then our response? The world leads in majority, we are part of the world, unconsciously we also follow and sin become  a little ok.

Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!” (Revelation 18:20 ESV)

Therefore be lead by our inner compass, conviction sure that our compulsion is not guided by the world standard but by the holy spirit (the words of God) through our conscience, which leads to our correct composure.

So one thing that I start is to keep time with and alone with God. read and pray and worship (which I have not started). That's why I am reading the book of Psalm this few days.

We are out of Babylon or are we not? Or the remains of Babylon is still in us? I pray for break and be able to walk right in and with God.

I will end this sharing, remember my sis-in-law's father. I pray for the peace of god that transcends all understanding, that he will be able to see and know that Christ is God. I pray for him to receive the knowledge in Christ Jesus and to know that the love of God has the intend to assure him a salvation and a place in heaven. I pray for him to know God. Amen.
