21 Mar 2014; Rev 19
The King is coming! Finally after Rev 6-18 which is about the rise of the King - is such that we may expect Him and return to Him.
It is timely. I pray for myself - a revival, a personal revival in Christ, a return back to the Father. I pray that this is not going to be a short run, but extend....
I continue to pray for my family, that we will be united and be ready for the Lamb. That this family be ready for the weddings and prepare ourselves for it.
Accordingly, the Jewish wedding comes in 3 part. The first is the betrothal. It is engagement. Both bride and groom do not stay with each other. The second part is that the groom went home to prepare a room for the bride while the bride prepare herself for the coming of the groom. It is waiting which the bride longs and expects the coming of the groom. She must be prepared for when the groom comes, she will go. Then it is the third part - the celebration and the ceremony for union.
In Rev 19,
Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;
it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
(Revelation 19:7-8 ESV)
The attention is not on the bride but the groom - the Lamb. The bride refers to the Church. Are we then prepared for the coming and the celebration?
In Rev 19, the celebration is about the total destruction of the anti-Christ. The celebration is on the gorging of their flesh.
It is in Rev 19, besides Psalm that the word Hallelujah was first mention after the fall of the anti-Christ. It is also the mentioned of the rider in white horse - the ideal groom for every bride.
I pray that we are and will be that readied bride for Christ. Amen.
