17 Aug 2007

17 Aug - Nehemiah 12:27-13:31; 1 Corinthians 11:3-16; Psalm 35:1-16; Proverbs 21:17-18

In the OT, it talked about intermarriage, the practice of the Levites and the observation of Sabbath. These were things that the people had failed to do or observed. How about us? No we are in the NT.

In the NT, Paul talked about woman covering their hair. How about us? No we are in the new age..

I believed God has a reason for doing so in each practice and item. In the OT, observe the sabbath - it is about the rest God intended for us and thus showed His great provision. Intermarriage has its problem (here I am talking about marrying spouse of different believe). That was clearly pointed out in the example of Solomon. The intend was for us to be reserved for His purpose, so that we can be singled minded in serving Him. I thus pray for Josef and Deborah that Jesus you will reserve for my children the Godly intended spouse for them, that least of all that they will be swayed away from you. Keep them for yourself. Giving - is the next intended important from God. We give because God has provided and will provides for us. Lastly in the NT, I believed that when Paul wrote about the Chorinthians church, about woman covering their hair - has to do more with the then social problem. I am not sure, but regardless, the key is God is above us all.

In alot of ways, I know I can never do all things right and I cannot practice in all ways the things the OT or the things the NT mentioned. I can only try to grasp the God intention. Follow the heart - even David choose to eat the unleaven bread when he was hungry. I pray that Jesus, make my heart be more and more like you. Yes I have failed you again and again, but to gave up and say that I am not worthy, I am losing the treasure and be deceived. I pray and choose to repent and come back to you.
