7 Aug - Ezra 5-6; 1 Corinthians 3:5-23; Psalm 29; Proverbs 20:26-27
Nothing seems to go smoothly when we start to do God's work. Like in the book of Ezra, opposition came when they are rebuilding the temple. But the events tooka turn and end up in great favour from Darius.
Ezra 6:"8 Moreover, I make a decree regarding what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the rebuilding of this house of God. The cost is to be paid to these men in full and without delay from the royal revenue, the tribute of the province from Beyond the River. 9 And whatever is needed—bulls, rams, or sheep for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, or oil, as the priests at Jerusalem require—let that be given to them day by day without fail, "
Darius himself recognize that the god of the Hebrews is a God of heaven. How about us? Who is God?
I pondered back when God speaks and show himself through signs to me. I remembered how I laugh and cry at the same time when I stubbornly said I would not when God touch me. Who is then this God of Abraham, Isacc and Israel?
I remembered how the holy spirit moved when I shared the gospel in China. In Jesus parting message, He said he would gave us the gift - the Holy Spirit. Who is Jesus?
As I reflect back, God who choose to come in the form of a human -Jesus, cleanse all my sins. I was then searching for what will happen to me after death. And it was Jesus who cleanse me, so that I can come to the Father. "He who hears my words and believes Him who sent me, has eternal life".
I pray for myself, and my family that we can re-kindled the flame when we first come to know Christ. How Jesus has revealed to us, how God has made himself known to the gentiles, instead of just the God of Israel.
I pray that we can go also witness God favour and thus rememebered the greatenss and goodness of a God who loved us so much - who has bless my family.
