9 Aug - Ezra 8:21-9:15; 1 Corinthians 5; Psalm 31:1-8; Proverbs 21:1-2
Pro 21:2 "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart."
Indeed, nobody knows what is in your heart. I can say what I am, even so do what I should be, but the heart - only God knows. Deep inside.
In the OT, Ezra leads the people back to Jesusalem. What a journey it was going to be - a journey of danger, yet it was also a journey of great expectation.
Today, I spend nearly the whole day with my family with Max's family. Max happened to be the person who share Christ with me and bring me to Jesus. We talked, our children played together and the adults has a good worship session. We end the day at ECP. Well I pray for such occassion, that while the children occupied themselves, the adult does their own. Frankly, so far, I have not been able to find such settings in my current church. Well, Lord, I pray the you provide.
I spoke to Steven, who happened to be Max extended brother-in-law. He related about his life style as well as how he put God and family first before all things - and the Lord bless. Likewise, Max related to me about his brother, a talented design, artisit and a professional architect, who also put God and family first.
As I reflect and together with Ezra journey, nothing should comes first before God and family. They are the ones that last. Even as I intent to journey into new land, I pray for favour, for the Lord blessing and just as Ezra prayed, Ezra 8: 21 "“The hand of our God is for good on all who seek him, and the power of his wrath is against all who forsake him.” " Amen.
