4 Aug 2007

4 Aug - 2 Chronicles 35-36; 1 Corinthians 1:1-17; Psalm 27:1-6; Proverbs 20:20-21

2 Chr 35: "21 But he sent envoys to him, saying, “What have we to do with each other, king of Judah? I am not coming against you this day, but against the house with which I am at war. And God has commanded me to hurry. Cease opposing God, who is with me, lest he destroy you.” "

Who said that? - Neco king of Egypt. So how do you know that he is speaking the truth or not? Even if he had spoken the truth, would you not go to war with him for your people sake (because you are the king)? You can pause here for a thought.

The answer - because of ... whatever answer you gave - Josiah died in that battle.

I had a dream, I dreamt that I was crying out to the Lord. I looked back to the past years - I saw some of my colleagues wokring together, playing together. How I long for such days. But things have changed. How I wished that we can fight battle together again.

Lord, I pray, I may not know the words nor the thoughts that go through King Josiah minds, but I pray, that whatever action I took, is to fuilfil your perfect will. Yes I can choose to be careful and run away from the battle, or I can be like David, faced Goliath bravely.
