8 Aug - Ezra 7:1-8:20; 1 Corinthians 4; Psalm 30; Proverbs 20:28-30
Psa 30: "You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;"
Are you joyful today? Or are we troubled by the stress and the worries? Rachael was sharing with me about time to spend with children, or to spend time in work, about the school culture and anout promotions. Yes I agreed that we are all caught up with decisions to make. I pray for Rachael, that God will be able to reveal the priorities to her, I pray that the spirit of envy will not surpass the spirit of thanksgiving. Lord, you know the best for her and I pray that you gave her understanding in the things you desire her to have and that will be the best.
Yes, for me I give thanks. I shared with Rachael that for the month of July that I fear not able to meet by profit target. It was coming to the last week and my July target was only a fraction. But in a surprise turn, I get my target of 300pips / lot/ month again. How about this month, I will put my trust in Jesus. I really do not know how the market moves, and therefore I have to put my decisions making all to you.
In the OT, in the earlier chapters, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel lead the people back to Jesusalem to rebuild the temple and the walls. Now in chapter 7, Ezra the son of Seraiah lead the people back.
Going back always has its big significant. On Sunday, Paster shared about a murderer that God consider him as a man after his own heart! David, of course is this man. It was because when Nathan pointed the sins to him, he REPENT and said "I have sin against the Lord". David knows how to go back and get back. Zerubbabel represent a kingly leadership, he was Jesus fore fathers. Jesus showed us the way. Ezra pointed us to going back to the words of God. I can imagine the poeple all hape up because of the return (after 70 years) to Jesulaem. That was a sign of God promise and God bless. Once again, they were out of captivity - free. It was then Ezra that lead another revival - the revival of the heart.
Lord, I pray, as you have lead me out of Ur, let me not go back to the old ways of practice. As you have given me your commandments, I pray that I be able to follow you each day.
